Hurling Toward Success: Cian O’Sullivan to Take on Leinster Hurling Final This Summer

Murphy Geospatial is made great by the unique people who make up our organisation. We’re excited to tell you about Cian O’Sullivan – valued member of our Specialist Engineering Team and emerging sporting star! Thanks to his dedication and commitment to senior county hurling, Cian and the Dublin team will be lining out in the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship Final this July.

This step towards glory came as result of a monumental semi-final performance from the Dubs, during which they stunned Galway and prevailed with a 1-18 to 1-14 win. As well as being an exciting moment for Cian and his teammates, it’s also a huge achievement for Dublin too – the team haven’t made it to a provincial final since 2014.

In addition to being an outstanding sportsman, Cian also has a portfolio of achievements worth celebrating outside of the pitch. As a graduate of Trinity College, he began putting his Earth Science degree to work when he joined our Kilcullen-based head office in September 2020. Since then, he’s been working with the Specialist Engineering Services Team to process survey data that supports the design of essential flood relief systems across Ireland.

I’m really looking forward to this final. The last few months training with the squad has been a breath of fresh air following the easing of government restrictions. It has been a tough year for everyone who partakes in the GAA community, so it is great to have spectators back cheering on their teams. Despite the condensed GAA season, the opening rounds of the provincial championships have provided some cracking games, and I have no doubt this Saturday will be any different” – Cian O’Sullivan

We’re all incredibly proud of Cian and can’t wait to see him take on the game later this month, scheduled to play on 17th July.
