Murphy Geospatial Director Runs London Marathon to Get Kids Going

As an organisation that prides itself on our place in the community, we’re constantly looking for new ways to raise funds for charity and make a positive impact. We’re excited to announce that Colin Murphy, our company director, will be running in the London Marathon this October.

With over 25 years of experience, Colin has earned a strong reputation for business leadership and his expertise in technology. As well as his keen interest in data and our company mission, he’s also passionate about exercise and keeping fit. Having already completed a number of Ironman 70.3s, this autumn, he’ll turn his hand to a new challenge by crossing the finish line at the London Marathon.

Much like other major sporting events, competitors in the Marathon get the chance to raise funds for a charity of their choosing. Colin is proud to be supporting Get Kids Going, a national initiative that gives disabled children and young people the chance to participate in a wide range of sports. Personally inspired by the work of the charity, Colin said:

“As a young person, I often felt that a lack of sporting opportunities held me back from living a healthier lifestyle. Several years ago, I took control of my own body and changed my life for the better. Charities like Get Kids Going make a huge difference to kids’ lives and I’m more than happy to support them.”

We’re incredibly proud of Colin’s efforts to raise money for this essential charity and embark on another powerful personal journey. The whole team at Murphy Geospatial will be cheering him on and can’t wait to celebrate his success.

The London Marathon will commence on 3rd October 2021. If you’d like to donate to this worthy cause and find out more about Colin’s mission, visit his fundraising page here.
