Crowds gathered to cheer on over 180 riders at Kilcullen firm Murphy Geospatial’s charity cycle, in aid of Children’s Health Foundation.
Riders either took on a 50km or 100km route which started and finished at Kilcullen firm Murphy Geospatial’s Head Office, winding through the roads of Co. Kildare and Co. Laois.
Riders of all abilities took on the challenge, keen amateurs were helped along the way by a dedicated team of volunteers. Families, friends and supporters of the riders lined the routes, helping to push everyone over the finish lines. Fears about the adverse weather loomed earlier in the day, but the rain held off, to the relief of all those involved.
Murphy Geospatial, a specialist in geospatial data, surveys, and digital construction, ran 7 events up until 2019, raising over €90,000 for the Foundation to date. This year was the first time the cycle took place since the pandemic.
The Foundation supports Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin, which is the national centre for a range of specialities including childhood cancers and blood disorders, cystic fibrosis, clinical genetics, and paediatric congenital heart and lung diseases. The money raised will help provide loving, compassionate care to thousands of patients that visit the hospital every year.
