We are in the middle of the summer months, which for many means well deserved downtime after a busy first half of the year. For the team here, we’re reflecting on some specific achievements as we gear up to celebrate our 40th year in business.

In 2023, we have been fortunate enough to have won and been nominated for several awards across different business functions including Building and Architect of the Year Awards, Tech Excellence Awards, British Safety Council – International Safety Awards and the NISO Awards.

Our work on prestigious projects continues, including bringing the value of geospatial data to a new audience through our work on reality capture for the Oscar-nominated film, The Banshees of Inisherin, which supported the film’s special effects team.

Members of our team have also represented Murphy Geospatial at some of the sector’s key events including Modern Construction Ireland, Geospatial Conference and Digital Construction Week where we offered demonstrations of our latest innovation to the sector, our Extended Reality (XR) technology further supporting the digitalisation of the sector, allowing multiple operatives to work on projects in real time, from anywhere.

Foreword by Niall Murphy, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Founder

As for the next 6 months, alongside our projects, we’re preparing to celebrate our 40th anniversary. In 1983, Murphy Geospatial was founded by Peter Murphy. For those that don’t know, he was a talented surveyor, fiercely committed to innovation, and father to me and my brothers. We continue his legacy of precision and innovation to this day and we’re grateful to the part our clients have played in the last 40 years. As we celebrate and look back on past achievements and learnings, we’ll also be looking into the next 40 years and beyond and how we can play a pivotal role in the continued elevation of the geospatial sector, whilst supporting our clients.

I, and the rest of the team at Murphy Geospatial, hope you have a great summer.
