Murphy Geospatial’s Gareth Robinson Takes on Half Marathon for KickStart Ghana

Murphy Geospatial’s Gareth Robinson Takes on Half Marathon for KickStart Ghana

At Murphy Geospatial, we’re committed to supporting the wider community, both locally and internationally. As a result, we feel the utmost pride when members of our team seek out opportunities which allow them to give back to causes they’re passionate about. We’re pleased to announce that this summer, our esteemed Business Development Executive, Gareth Robinson, will be taking on the Doncaster Half Marathon.

Such a challenge is no easy feat for even the most seasoned of runners. Despite being new to the sport, Gareth hopes to complete the 13.1-mile stretch in under two hours and twenty minutes. He is currently training alongside two of his best friends, who he’ll attend the event with in June of this year. While he’s excited to take on the challenge, Gareth’s main focus is to raise as much money as possible for a charity close to his heart.

KickStart Ghana will be the lucky recipient of his fundraising efforts. After spending two summers volunteering in Africa with the charity’s support, our brilliant colleague is eager to give back. The non-profit organisation’s mission is to bring about progress through sport and education, enhancing opportunities, investing in initiatives and recruiting volunteers to make change happen.

We asked Gareth about his upcoming challenge:

“I spent two summers working with KickStart Ghana and have seen firsthand the impact the charity has made by bringing sport and education to Ghanaians. This race will be the first time I’ve ever run more than 10km, so I’m looking forward to the challenge. I’d appreciate any support and would be happy to exchange donations for photographs of myself in Ghana (when I had hair…) or evidence of my suffering during training!”

The whole team at Murphy Geospatial are incredibly proud of Gareth’s fundraising efforts, and we wish him luck with the Doncaster Half Marathon, taking place on 12th June 2022.
