Andy Kitson to Represent Murphy Geospatial at the Global GPR Congress

As we put the stormy weather behind us and look ahead to warmer months, the team at Murphy Geospatial are already looking forward to attending our next event. One of our spring schedule highlights is the Global GPR Congress, a virtual and worldwide lineup featuring our very own Andy Kitson.

With a commitment to lead our industry forward, we’re incredibly excited to be in attendance at this year’s Global GPR Congress, and we’re proud to be able to offer an informative session. The virtual event is hosted annually and brings together new and experienced GPR users to participate in open discussion and continuous learning through shared ideas. We’ll be joining GPR professionals from around the world for two days of focused education and discussion.

As the Geospatial Consultant for our Specialist Engineering Service department, there’s really no one more qualified than Andy to take on the reins of this event. His passion and expertise centre around the use of non-intrusive techniques for investigating structures with one aim: to determine how they are built and what defects may lie hidden beneath the surface. Andy specialises in developing tailored non-destructive techniques to image the subsurface of structures, having spent his career utilising existing technology to provide solutions to clients challenges. With a strong belief in protecting staff and assets, Andy is always seeking new ways to conduct surveys remotely and non-intrusively to reduce risk.

His presence at the conference will involve two sessions. First, he’ll be chairing a panel discussion on presenting information to clients that will focus on Global Standards and Expectations for Utility Locating. Next up, Andy will give a presentation to showcase his unique approach, titled: A Different Way of Understanding GPR Surveys, Extracting Information, and Presenting Information to Your Client. During the talk, Andy will detail how undertaking overview scans with a few large and detailed grids can provide clients with extensive information on structures – enhancing safety and quality.

The Global GPR Congress is hosted by the Global Excavation Safety Conference on 17th and 18th May 2022. Head to their website now to register for the virtual event – we can’t wait to see you there!
